Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

Jonah comes out of a fish’s belly, when he should have been dead, when every intellectual thought would be that he was dead and gone, but his resurrection from the water was a sign to the Ninevites, who worshipped the fish god Dagon, that the Message he brought was true.
Many times we get nervous and we begin to think, “Well, it ought to be this way, and we’ve got to make it this way or make it that way.”

The pharisees ask Jesus for a sign, and he told them the only sign they would get was the sign of the resurrection.
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Matthew Critical Notes
Three days and three nights.—I.e. three of the periods composed of a night and a day (νυχθήμερον) which was reckoned as one day. On the Jewish principle, that a part of any such period is as the whole, a whole day and part of two other days would be reckoned as three (Mansel)

It’s within three days and three nights, within that three days and three nights, because you can’t make the Scripture lie.
The prophet said, “I will not suffer my holy One to see corruption, neither will I leave His soul in hell.”
And corruption sets in the human body in seventy-two hours, which is three days and three nights. Sometime within that three days and three nights that He must come forth from the grave.
So being three days and three nights, don’t mean it has to be exactly that; it’s sometime within that three days and three nights.
He had to come forth, because the prophecy cannot be broken, that the…He could not see corruption and it would’ve corrupted if He’d stayed exactly that time. 64-0823E - Questions And Answers #2
He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
What is proof of a resurrection?
A Body with Life in it. More specifically, the same life as the one that went into the grave. (Give Example)
To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
τεκμήριον, an infallible proof, a piece of certain (convincing) evidence.
He convinced them He was alive by doing the same things He did when He was on the earth.
Jonah showed the sign of the resurrection to a Gentile nation.
When Christ was on earth he knew the secrets of the heart. He revealed Himself to the Jews by that sign.
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.
Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
He was much more direct with the Samaritan woman.
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
Samaritans rejected David but believed Moses. they weren’t looking for a King but for a Prophet.
The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
Look, if that was the sign of Messiah for the Jews, it was the sign of the Messiah also when He was here on earth for the Samaritans, there’s only one left for the sign; that’s the Gentiles. 56-0415 - The Deep Calling To The Deep
That sign was shown in the Old Testament “potentially” to Abraham.
Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
This is more than just the sign, but the revealing of the Word, Christ. It does include the sign.
As it was in the days of Lot.
And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
He made Elohim in flesh welcome, brought Him under the tree and fixed something for Him to eat.
And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.
And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?
Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
And the Angel, or the Messenger, the Man with His back turned to the tent, said, “Why did Sarah say that?” What was it? Now watch. And then, after the sacrifice was made, He vanished.
Now remember, Abraham called that Man, “Elohim.” How many readers know that? You know it. That’s right. “Elohim,” that’s Almighty God in the form of a man. He was the Word, because He could discern the thoughts.
God in flesh, what does it testify? That, “In the last days,” Jesus said, “just before…when the Son of man is being revealed to His promised Church,” the Church that’s not down yonder in Babylon.
We got a Babylon church, you know that, the denominations. They’re in Babylon. And we got a Billy Graham and an Oral Roberts, and them out there banging away at them, too.
And there was One to the called-out, elected Church, that was showing the sign that God was in flesh.
(Was the sign of the resurrection only in a prophet? The Messenger gave the sign, but the voice of the sign was Manifested in Abraham and Sarah’s bodies)
Jesus was God in flesh. And if Jesus is in you, tonight, it’s still God manifest Himself in the last days, the Son of man revealing Himself in His Church, the human flesh, making Himself known.
You get it? God, down here in His Church, making Himself again the Word, the Son of man being revealed in the last days, as it was in the days of Sodom. 64-0318 - Sir, We Would See Jesus
And Jesus said, “As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be at the Coming of the Son of man.” Deity veiled again in human flesh! Now, remember, Jesus didn’t say, “When the Son of God is being revealed.”
In Luke the 17th chapter, I believe, and about the 20th, 21st verse, somewhere along there, He said, “And when the Son of man is being revealed.”
The Son of man, back in the Church again, revealed in human beings; not Son of God, but the Son of man again, back in His Church again, in the last days. 64-0629 - The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us
The Son of man will be revealed in a body of flesh, you people, the Church, just exactly like it was before the days of Sodom, a called-out group away from all of them, setting out, believing the promise of God. Glory! 65-1126 - Works Is Faith Expressed
But He promised, just before the coming of the end time, the world would get like it was in Sodom, when a Man came down in human form; three of them, two Angels and God Himself. That was God. The Bible said it was.
Now He came down and He manifested Himself there, by turning His back to the tent where Sarah was, and told Abraham what Sarah was thinking in the tent.
Now, Jesus Himself said, “At the day when the Son of man is being revealed,” in other words, “the Son of man, the ministry of Jesus Christ Hisself.”
The church will come through justification, through Luther; through sanctification, through Wesley; through the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and the Pentecostals;
and go right on into the perfection of the Son of man, that when Husband and Wife will be the same-self persons.
God will be so manifested into His Bride, His Church, till they will both be the same. They are one. Now you see where we’re at. 65-0425 - God's Provided Place Of Worship
Bro. Branham was not the son of man.
291. Some say Brother Branham is the Son of man. I thought the Pillar of Fire was the Son of man. Am I mistaken?
Well, that’s a good question, very good. But I am not the Son of man, but a son of man. There’s quite a difference. Jesus Christ was the Son of man, the Son of God, the Son of man, the Son of David.

I am not He; I am His servant. And the Pillar of Fire is not He; It’s in Spirit form (see?) which was upon the Son of man and has come now to anoint sons of man,

“As Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses,” the anointed Word of the hour, “so will these men,” not man, “men,” anointed ones, “resist the Truth.”
“In the very day that the Son of man is revealed.” Revelation 10:1 to 7, read it when you get home, “the seventh angel’s Message, opening up the Seals.”
What is it? Not the angel is the Son of man; but the messenger is revealing the Son of man. Can you get it separated now? That’s where it seems to be so hard for you, you see.
Not the Son of man, Himself; but the seventh angel, the seventh messenger, is revealing to the public the Son of man, because It’s left the shuck. He can’t organize It. It’s the Grain, Itself, again. 65-0725M - The Anointed Ones At The End Time
I wasn’t the One that appeared down on the river; I was only standing there when He appeared. I’m not the One that performs these things and foretells these things that happens as perfect they are; I’m only one that’s near when He does it.
I was only a voice that He used, to say It. It wasn’t what I knew; it’s what I just surrendered myself to, that He spoke through. It isn’t me, it wasn’t the seventh angel, oh, no; it was the manifestation of the Son of man.
It wasn’t the angel, his message; it was the mystery that God unfolded. It’s not a man; it’s God. The angel was not the Son of man; he was the messenger from the Son of man.
The Son of man is Christ; He is the One that you’re feeding on. You’re not feeding on a man; a man, his words will fail. But you’re feeding on the unfailing Body-Word of the Son of man. 65-0725M - The Anointed Ones At The End Time
Jonah was the sign of the resurrection.
Jesus was the sign of the resurrection.
A prophet in our day was the sign of the resurrection.
Now we are the sign of the resurrection.
He was that prophet part of the body, but we are also part of the body.
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
If I can get myself out of the way, so when William Branham not even thought of, and you not even thought of, till we can see Jesus glorified among us. See Him, that’s our desire.
That gives us the quickening Power. And it gives us joy, to know that we are with Him, both flesh and bone of Him, being the Bride of Him;

Jonah walked out of his trial, not knowing He was manifesting the resurrection of Christ.
Paul says in Gal 1:15 that “It pleased God to Separate him from his mother’s womb” “to reveal his Son in Me”.
His resurrection from Pharisee-ism was a revealing of Christ in his body.
Our Resurrection from dead creeds and dead trespasses and sins is a revealing of the Son of Man in us.
Not in Prophet form, He’s already done that, but in pastor form, in deacon form, in housewife form, the Son of Man continues to reveal Himself to this Generation. Do you believe it?
